Michelin Madrid One Star: La Tasqueria

Shrimp and Beef Taco

A few months ago, my friends and I ate in a Michelin One Star Restaurant in Madrid called La Tasqueria. Since this happened around six months ago, I don’t really remember what we ate, but I have pictures of it. All I remember is that the food was good and it was worth it. We sat in the terraza because the spring weather was beautiful outside.

Location: 5/5

La Tasqueria had a nice location in Goya, very near Wizink Center. It’s a very central location and you can’t miss where it is.

Interiors: N/A

Unfortunately, for the interiors, I can’t really provide a good judgment since my friends and I ate in the terraza.

Food: 5/5

I loved the food in La Tasqueria. They gave a flavorful twist to everyday food. Everything was savory. It was more of a hit than a miss.

We were four and we got the smallest menu for 50 euros each in La Tasqueria. This menu included aperitivo, snacks, petit fours, pan y aceite, 4 plates and dessert. Because we wanted to try the cochinillo, we ordered it as an extra dish to share for the four of us, instead of getting the large 78 euro menu that included the cabeza de cochinillo. All in all, for me personally, I paid around 75 euros for two glasses of wine, my share of cochinillo, and the small degustacion menu. I consider it good value for money, considering it was a Michelin one star, the food was good, and their service was excellent. They explained each food to you so you would understand what you were eating.

The good thing about being four people is that the restaurant staff were gracious enough to give us two types of menus, so we got to try more variety of food. Two of us had the same menu with the same food, while the other two had a different menu, even if we all ordered the same tasting menu. Some dishes were the same but some were also different. For example, we had two types of desserts, two of each one. But we all had the same cheesy fideua. For service, I would say, this restaurant was five star and I am not surprised with their Michelin one star.

Unfortunately, since this happened a few months ago, I could actually barely remember what we ate, but I tried to describe it in the pictures as much as I can. What I could say is that, it was good, and you should try it.

Truth is, I wasn’t even able to try the dessert because I had to leave to pick up my kids from school (they got off school early), but my friends said, it was delicious.

Service: 5/5

The service in La Tasqueria is deserving of its one Michelin star. When we were making a decision of which menu to take, our server was kind and gracious enough to recommend that we get the smallest tasting meu with the additional order of cochinillo, instead of getting the more expensive menu with cochinillo. This is the epitome of great service, when they give recommendations that are more cost efficient.

If you’re ever in the area, I think you should try La Tasqueria. I will go back.
