DIY Vase Flower Arrangement

DIY faux flower vase arrangement

I’m addicted to home decor. I love finding ways to make my small apartment look cozy, homey, and beautiful. So even if I’m always on a budget and watching my expenses, I always find the funds to buy something for the beautification of the house. Still, the home decor has to be affordable. I can’t justify spending hundreds of euros on one item of home decor. For this reason, the best home decor is the DIY decor. Here, I make a DIY vase flower arrangement.

A lot of interior designers advise against putting fake flowers and plants in your apartment. There’s an abundance of articles about this. For plants, I have real ones because you can choose to maintain plants that are easy to care for. But for flowers, I can’t justify buying real flowers that will die in a week, or at most, two weeks. So, you do you. Don’t listen to those interior designers. If you want fake flowers in your house, do it!

My husband used to buy me flowers all the time, but now that we share one bank account, “uhmmm, no thanks!” I’d rather spend that money elsewhere. My solution: DIY Vase Artificial Flower Arrangement. Since making this, I’ve been using it as a centerpiece everytime I have friends over. Now, I don’t feel like my table is bare. And I don’t have to spend so much money everytime I’m hosting, buying flowers. The trick here is to buy artificial / faux flowers that look real, but still within your budget.

Here in Madrid, there are a lot of Chinese stores and I scoured 4 to 5 Chinese stores to find the most realistic looking faux flowers I could find. They have really good quality ones in El Corte Ingles, but they were expensive, and I’m a momma on a budget.

On Amazon, these are the most realistic faux / artificial flowers I could find with really good reviews.

When arranging them on a vase and you like the flowers to stay in place, you have to put scotch tape on criss-cross directions. Then you place the flowers on the spaces. The tape will hold the flowers in the proper place. Here, I used masking tape because I didn’t want to mess up the vase. I only spray-painted my vase gold, so using scotch tape might chip off the paint. For this reason, I just used masking tape.
