Bacon Pasta Alfredo

Pasta is a staple in our household. One of my signature recipes that my husband absolutely loves is my alfredo sauce. I have played with this alfredo sauce quite a bit using both bacon and chicken as my meat. Both proteins make excellent pasta dishes. This is a bacon pasta alfredo sauce.

Since I’m a mom on a budget, I’ve substituted parmesan cheese with grana padano with great success. To grate it, I use my mini food processor. It just saves you time. Don’t even bother doing it by hand, unless you don’t have a processor. I have a 3-in-1 mini-food processor that I use as immersion blender and food processor at the same time. It has been a time-saver for me and a kitchen workhorse that deserves space in my limited kitchen cabinet.

This is a very easy recipe to make with ingredients you already have in your refrigerator or pantry. For the bacon, I buy cut-up bacon in packages because it’s cheaper. I don’t need large bacon strips here because I want them small anyway.

To make my pasta a real meal, I add mushrooms and parsley for my vegetables, bacon for my meat, and pasta for my carbs. I use macaroni, but this also works with spaghetti noodles. This is a very forgiving recipe so use whatever pasta you have.
